Fulda Public School

Fulda Public School

Project Type: Renovation and Expansion

Project Location: Fulda, MN

Project Budget: $35.3 Million

This project involved consolidating the district’s Elementary and High Schools into a single K–12 campus. It includes a 20,000-square-foot addition to the existing high school, featuring new high school classrooms, a gymnasium, fitness center, wrestling room, and outdoor athletic spaces. The classrooms are designed with state-of-the-art science, career, and technical education spaces. Additionally, 12,000 square feet of an existing wing of the high school will be completely renovated to accommodate elementary classrooms and support spaces, allowing for a seamless transition of the elementary program into the building.

This consolidation not only eliminates deferred maintenance but also delivers long-term operational and staffing efficiencies through shared resources and reduced facility costs.

Fridley Public Schools

Project Type: Renovation and Expansion

Location: Fridley, MN

Project Cost: $40.0 Million

inBYLT was commissioned to develop a strategic long-term plan for the District, starting with a Facility Assessment and Master Plan. The assessment pinpointed urgent needs, leading to immediate actions like replacing the High School's boilers and water main. Subsequent priority projects included renovations of existing facilities, building additions, safety and security measures, site improvements, and new athletic facilities.

Madelia Public Schools

Location: Madelia, MN

Project Cost: $30.5 Million

Madelia engaged inBYLT to support long-range planning for the district. Following a comprehensive Facilities Condition Assessment, multiple improvement scenarios were evaluated through a collaborative strategic planning process. Through community engagement meetings and a district-wide survey, inBYLT ultimately developed a two-question referendum concept tailored to the district’s priorities.

The first question focused on renovations at both school buildings, enhancements to Career and Technical Education spaces, reconfiguration of parking lots to improve traffic flow and safety, and building modifications and additions to create secure entrances at both the elementary and secondary schools. The second question proposed the construction of a new competition gymnasium, locker rooms, and a fitness center at the secondary school.

Cedar Mountain School

Cedar Mountain Schools

Project Type: Renovation

Project Location: Morgan, MN / Franklin, MN

Project Budget: $16.3 Million

inBYLT conducted a comprehensive Facilities Condition Assessment for Cedar Mountain Schools to evaluate the current state of their buildings and develop a strategic plan for necessary upgrades. Based on the findings, the district identified several immediate priorities for improvement.

The resulting project includes comprehensive renovations of both the high school and elementary school facilities. Major upgrades at both sites include new HVAC systems with dehumidification, window replacements, exterior improvements, roof replacements, and interior renovations featuring new casework, ceilings, and restrooms—all designed to create a more functional and welcoming environment for students and staff. In addition, the project incorporates an advanced geothermal system to maximize long-term energy savings. Significant government funding was secured to help support the cost of these improvements, further enhancing the project’s overall value to the district.

Location: La Crescent, MN

Project Cost: $6.1 Million

inBYLT was commissioned by the District to spearhead a visionary long-range strategic plan, where they identified and executed the critical replacement of the High School boiler plant and HVAC systems at both the Middle and High Schools.

In addition, inBYLT's scope included innovative enhancements like dehumidification systems, setting the stage for future educational space repurposing, security enhancements, renovations to the district office and athletic facility improvements.

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Project Cost: $3.4 Million

This project focused on the renovation of Keller Hall, focusing on enhancing learning environments within the labs and dentistry school, alongside critical upgrades to the fire and life safety systems. These improvements not only modernized the educational facilities but also ensured a safer environment for students and staff, aligning with the latest safety standards in educational infrastructure.

Winona State University

Project Type: Energy Project

Location: Winona, MN

Project Budget: $13.2 Million

Annual Savings: $539,000

inBYLT was commissioned by Winona State University to conduct a comprehensive Energy Study and develop a Guaranteed Energy Project aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability, and advancing toward carbon neutrality. This ambitious project incorporated Solar PV installations, LED lighting upgrades, water conservation measures, and significant enhancements to the Boiler Plant and HVAC systems, alongside tackling deferred maintenance to ensure long-term operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Forest Lake Area Schools

Project Type: Energy Project

Project Location: Forest Lake, MN

Project Cost: $3.4 Million

inBYLT successfully completed a district-wide project that included the design and installation of new centralized HVAC systems for the middle school, natatorium, and sports center. Additionally, we designed and installed 2 megawatts of solar PV across six district locations. Other energy efficiency upgrades included LED lighting throughout the district and the installation of a new refrigeration plant.

Project Budget: $2.8 Million

inBYLT designed and implemented a comprehensive suite of energy efficiency upgrades across the district as part of a self-funding guaranteed energy project. The improvements - including district-wide lighting retrofits, destratification enhancements, and building envelope upgrades - generated significant energy savings used to address deferred maintenance needs.

We successfully completed a Guaranteed Energy Project for the district, focusing on deferred maintenance and enhancing energy efficiency. The initiative involved comprehensive renovations and lighting retrofits at both schools. This included upgrading to LED lighting for interiors, exteriors, and parking lots.
